At Mini Trucks Dealership, we don’t just sell kei trucks — we deliver them. Every truck is shipped on a proper 1-car flatbed, not squeezed onto a 10-car hauler. We arrange everything for you, coast-to-coast and overseas.

All shipping is handled by licensed third-party carriers. We are not a trucking company, but we vet every driver.

1. NATIONWIDE GROUND DELIVERY (USA)
This is for all trucks already in stock at our lot.

How We Ship Keis: We use FMCSA-licensed “hotshot” flatbeds. Because kei trucks are only 1,500 lbs and 10.5 ft long, this is safer and cheaper than a standard car carrier (no oversized wheel straps crushing your wheels).

Cost: Shipping is quoted separately and is NOT included in the vehicle price.

Shipping Fee: $350 – $550
500-1,000 miles: $750 – $1,100
Coast-to-Coast: $1,400 – $1,900 (open) / $2,400+ (enclosed)
Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico: Quote required
We will get you 2-3 quotes. You pay the carrier directly at delivery, or we can pre-pay it for you. Full payment for the truck is required BEFORE we release it for shipping.

Timeline: 3-7 business days after payment for most US routes. Pickup is usually scheduled within 48 hours. We do NOT guarantee dates — weather, traffic, and DOT delays happen.

What’s Included: Door-to-door delivery (as close as a truck can legally get), $150,000 cargo insurance, and live tracking. We send you the driver’s name, DOT#, and phone number.

FREE LOCAL PICKUP: You can always pick up at our lot for free with your own trailer. A kei fits on a standard 6×12 U-Haul trailer.

2. INTERNATIONAL SEA SHIPPING
We offer two import/export services:

A) BUYING FROM JAPAN (Our Direct Import Service)
If you order a truck from our Japan inventory, the price is “FOB Japan”. We handle the export; you pay the landed costs.

Typical timeline: 6-10 weeks port-to-port.
Popular US ports: Long Beach CA, Tacoma WA, Savannah GA, Baltimore MD, Newark NJ.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Ocean Freight ($1,500 – $2,400 RORO)
US Import Duty: 25% for Kei TRUCKS, 2.5% for Kei VANS (The “Chicken Tax”)
Customs Broker + ISF Filing (~$450) – We can refer our broker
Port fees, THC, and delivery from port (~$450-$700)
We provide all DOT/EPA paperwork (HS-7, 3520-1). Your truck cannot be shipped until it is 25 years old to the month.

B) EXPORTING FROM USA TO CANADA / OVERSEAS
We ship worldwide. We deliver your truck to the port and handle US export paperwork. You are responsible for freight, insurance, and all import duty/taxes in your country. Canada is 15 years old for import (not 25).

3. DELIVERY & INSPECTION PROCESS (VERY IMPORTANT)
This protects your 72-Hour Arrival Guarantee.

At Delivery: DO NOT just sign. Inspect the truck in daylight on the truck.
Compare it to our 50+ photos and cold-start video.
Check for any NEW shipping damage (scratches, dents, cracked glass).
If you see damage, WRITE IT ON THE BILL OF LADING (BOL) and take photos BEFORE the driver leaves. If you sign “Received in good condition,” we cannot file a claim.
Start the truck. If it doesn’t run as described, call us immediately.
All trucks are shipped with ~1/4 tank of fuel. You must have someone 18+ present to receive it.

4. DAMAGE, DELAYS & STORAGE
Damage Claims: All carriers are insured. Any damage noted on the BOL must be reported to us within 24 hours. We will file the claim for you.
Delays: We are not liable for delays due to weather, mechanical breakdowns, or DOT shutdowns.
Storage: If you miss delivery, the carrier will take the truck to storage ($75/day). After 5 days of storage, we consider the truck abandoned.

5. IMPORTANT: YOU MUST CHECK YOUR STATE LAWS
We will ship a kei truck to any US address, but we are NOT responsible for your state’s DMV rules. States including California, New York, Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island, and Georgia are currently refusing or revoking kei truck registrations for on-road use. Please confirm with your local DMV BEFORE you buy and ship. All sales are final for registration issues.
